Two men face charges in northwest England over an alleged Islamic State-inspired plot to attack Jewish people, including plans to use firearms and mass gatherings to carry out mass casualties.
The UK is seeing the start of a significant terrorism trial at Preston Crown Court today, involving Walid Saadaoui (38) and Amar Hussein (52). The pair are accused of preparing an Islamic State-inspired attack targeting the Jewish community in northwest England. Prosecutors allege that between December 2023 and May 2024, Saadaoui and Hussein plotted to purchase assault rifles, pistols, ammunition, and other weapons, smuggling them into the UK.
